GPS USB Evaluation Board

Description:

This is a custom PCB designed as an evaluation board for the UV40 and the TF30 GPS engines. All you have to do is attach the GPS module! A USB connection provides both power and a serial link. Opening HyperTerminal at 4800bps will show GPS NMEA data every second.

• On board 3.3V LDO regulator with ample decoupling capacitors
• Power LED
• Reset button
• Jumper for current measurements
• Jumpers to detach module from USB TX/RX for custom embedded system
• Jumper to select between NMEA and Sony output on the UV40
• Battery holder for CR2032 (or equivalent 20mm) coin cell battery backup
• USB chip CP2101 shows up as a standard serial port on Windows/Linux/Mac OS with drivers provided
• Breakout header for all pins
